Cox Heath village is a short walk away, with a good selection of shops for everyday needs, two takeaways and a restaurant. There are three railway stations within easy driving distance, with trains to London taking approximately one hour, and the M20 and M2 motorways are within very easy access. There are many walks from the property including a river walk along the Medway through to Maidstone.
Kent's county town, Maidstone, is three miles to the north offering a wide selection of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities including two excellent shopping centres, bars, pubs and a wide variety of restaurants. Leisure facilities include ten-pin bowling, a multiplex cinema, theatre and nightclubs. There are also several golf courses in the area. This is an excellent situation for exploring Kent, London and the south-east, and for day trips to France.
There are many interesting places to visit in the area, such as the Historic Town of Maidstone with its Museum of Kent Life, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury and Rochester, all within easy reach. There are also some beautiful gardens for example Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Great Comp and Yalding Organic Garden. Also worth a visit are the Historic Dockyards at Chatham, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle and Aylesford Priory. Heart of Kent Country Tour gives access to drivers to the many pretty villages and beautiful Kent countryside and nearby Mote Park offers an indoor swimming pool and various leisure facilities.
